Welcome to Northern Beaches Now, a community based website highlighting community activities on the Northern Beaches.

As well as telling you what's on, Northern Beaches Now will help people USE THEIR POWERS FOR GOOD!!

The Northern Beaches Now website connects

  • community groups
  • charities
  • schools
  • individuals

who are doing what they can to improve their own community and the world.

It is a place to inform others of what’s on whether it is a fundraising event, collection or other community event.
We’ll tell you about people who are going above and beyond to help others and let you know how you can help.
It’s also about making our own little slice of heaven a place to be even more proud of.

  • Recycle – if you have something you no longer want and are happy to give it away we’ll help you find a home for it.
  • Need something and can’t find it? We’ll help you track it down.

In time of need we’ll help you to take action quickly – whether it’s collecting for bushfire or flood victims, raising money for someone in need or filling seats for a function.

Let us know what's going on and we'll pass on the good news.

While this is all serious business we want to have some fun along the way as well - double click on The Rip for the quirkier, odder side of life.

Contact me via email and I will do what I can to make the Northern Beaches an even better place to live and help pass some of our good fortune on to others.

Tibetans Celebrate

More than 1000 Tibetans and their supporters gatherred at the Allambie Heights Community Centre on the weekend to celebrate the Dalai Lama's 75th birthday.

The Festival of Tibet included a photographic exhibition ``A man of compassion and wisdom - the Dalai Lama's life in pictures.''

Traditional dances, songs, poetry readings by Tibetans and performances by members of the Chinese community preceeded a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to you with a Tibetan flavour and cutting of a giant birthday cake.

A performance of the snow lion dance was another highlight.

The day was organised by the NSW Tibetan community, the Dalai Lama in Australia Limited and the Tibetan and Chinese Friendship Association.
